Ars Simia Naturae By Clive Jones

Opening this Thursday the 28th  from 6pm is Ars Simia Naturae by Clive Jones.

In his first independent solo exhibition Clive presents a progressive visual discourse concerning the natural world, politics, propaganda, species depletion and environmental concerns. Using skills and techniques developed during forty years of professional practice, Clive responds to contemporary issues as a means of asserting the timeless relevance of painting, and the importance of careful observation in an over-informed world.

Marked by its focus on draughtsmanship and its painterly aesthetic, Clive’s work presents eclectic and pithy observations drawn from a lifetime of research and political awareness. These mature paintings stand out as a reaction to a world of pre-chewed and easily digestible tele-visual information. Free from digital influence, or the encroachment of personality over technical skill, this long-awaited exhibition is one that you shouldn’t miss.

With a 7pm opening speech by Kristy Edmunds followed by live performances by Caravan of Doom and Red Brigade

and to get you in the mood... here are some sneek peeks...

Now how can you resist really?!? See you there!
